The City of Franklin is seeking participants for a bicycle tour of downtown Franklin. The Tour de Franklin event, to be held as part of the Rock in River Festival, is aimed at gathering input on ways to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety within the City.
The ride will begin at the Salt Box house at the trailhead of the Samuel Justus Trail, located off Route 322 at the east end of Franklin’s Eighth Street Bridge. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes, ending at Riverfront Park. At the conclusion of the “tour,” participants will be invited to discuss issues, concerns and observations they made during the bike ride. The information will be used by the City as it works toward a bicycle and pedestrian master plan, which will identify infrastructure improvements to connect downtown Franklin to the Samuel Justus Trail and improve the safety and usability of the City’s corridors.
Additional information is available by contacting Sheila Boughner, City of Franklin's Community Development Director @ 814.437.7841 or sboughner@franklinpa.gov.
